2026 Daily Tour Itinerary
Day 1 • Lima, Peru
Welcome to Peru, where sacred valleys, majestic ruins, ancient traditions, and warm hospitality await you. Fly into Jorge Chávez International Airport (LIM) in Lima, Peru. Transfer on your own using the official airport taxi service. Enjoy a two-night stay at your Lima hotel, located in the modern and walkable neighborhood of Miraflores. Rooms are available for check-in after 3:00 p.m. Dinner is on your own.
Day 2 • Historic Center, Larco Museum
After breakfast, join Caravan for a 8:00 a.m. welcome briefing. Enjoy a morning visit to Lima’s Historic Center, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Explore the Main Plaza. See the Palace of the Archbishop, the Government Palace, and the 16th century Cathedral. Then, see the Monasterio de San Francisco, celebrated for its Spanish Baroque style facade. Return to Miraflores. Lunch is on your own. Next, drive to Larco Museum. Discover a remarkable collection of pre-Columbian art and artifacts, displayed in a beautifully preserved colonial 18th-century mansion. Enjoy Dinner.

Day 3 • Fly to Cusco, Sacred Valley
Fly today from Lima to Cusco. This flight is included in your Caravan tour price. You are allowed one carry-on and one checked piece of luggage. Lunch is on your own. Upon arrival in Cusco, drive to your hotel in the heart of the Sacred Valley for a relaxing three-night stay. The Sacred Valley is 9,120 feet above sea level. Enjoy Dinner.

Day 4 • Ollantaytambo, Moray, Chinchero
Morning visit to Ollantaytambo. The town's irrigation and drainage systems, still in use today, were built in the 15th century. Visit the lively handicraft market. See the Inca fortification perched high on the hillside. Then, drive to Moray. Admire the circular stone terraces, once used by the Incas to improve their crop cultivation. Enjoy lunch. Next, visit a textile cooperative in Chinchero. See how alpaca wool is washed, dyed, spun, and weaved by hand. Free time to shop for these handwoven fabrics. Return to your hotel. Dinner is on your own.

Day 5 • Machu Picchu
Enjoy a scenic morning train ride to the ancient citadel of Machu Picchu, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit Machu Picchu, the legendary "The Lost City of the Incas" and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. During your two-and-a-half-hour visit, see the Temple of the Sun, the House of the Priest, and the Sacred Plaza. Enjoy a box lunch. In the late afternoon, return by train to your hotel in the Sacred Valley. Enjoy dinner.

Day 6 • Sacsayhuamán, Cusco
Morning drive to Sacsayhuamán. Walk alongside the massive interlocking stone walls of this Inca fortress and ceremonial center. Enjoy lunch. Then, continue to Cusco, the Capital of the Inca Empire and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. See the Plaza de Armas and the Cathedral. Free time to explore the cobbled stone streets, colonial architecture, and artisan shops of Cusco. Dinner is on your own. Cusco is at 11,150 feet above sea level. Your JW Marriott room is equipped with supplemental oxygen to enhance your comfort at this high altitude.

Day 7 • Fly to Lima, Miraflores Lima
Fly today from Cusco to Lima. This flight is included in your Caravan tour price. You are allowed one carry-on and one checked piece of luggage. Lunch is on your own. Upon arriving in Lima, enjoy a scenic drive along the revitalized waterfront. Farewell dinner.

Day 8 • Lima
Your tour ends this morning at your hotel in Lima. Breakfast is included only after 6:30 a.m. Caravan includes departure transfers on the day the tour ends from your hotel to Jorge Chávez International Airport (LIM) in Lima, Peru, arriving at 5:30 a.m., 8:00 a.m., and 11:00 a.m. If you wish to go at a different time or extend your stay in Peru, you will need to transfer on your own at your own expense. High Elevations
Your vacation starts and ends at sea level in Lima, Peru. However, your tour overnights at high elevations in the Andes. If you have breathing or heart issues, please consult with your healthcare professional to see if you can safely take this tour. The tour stays 3 nights in the Sacred Valley at an overnight elevation of 9,420 feet and then, one night in Cusco at an overnight elevation of 11,150 feet.

The JW Marriott El Convento Cusco is a luxury hotel housed in the beautifully restored 16th-century San Augustin convent, just three blocks from the Plaza de Armas. The hotel offers oxygen enriched rooms, two restaurants, and a boutique gift shop. Guests can unwind at the full service spa which features a swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna, and steam room - all available for an additional fee. Free Wifi.

Day 7 • Lima

Marriott Courtyard Miraflores

Transfer on your own from the Jorge Chávez International Airport (LIM) to Marriott Courtyard Miraflores (Calle Schell 400, Miraflores) in Lima. Once you have exited customs and collected your baggage at the airport, proceed to the counters for official taxi companies such as Taxi Seguro and Green Taxi. Here you can request your taxi. You can book and pay at the counter before exiting the terminal. The driving time from the airport to your hotel, Marriott Courtyard Miraflores, is approximately 30 - 60 minutes depending on traffic. You can pay using U.S. Dollars, Peruvian Soles, or with a credit card. Taxi fares range from 90 - 130 Peruvian Soles, or $25 - $35 U.S. Dollars (depending on the exchange rate) plus tip. ATMs and a currency exchange are available at the airport. When you arrive at your hotel, please identify yourself as a Caravan tour member to the front desk personnel.
Departure Transfers
Caravan includes fixed departure transfers from your hotel to Jorge Chávez International Airport (LIM), scheduled to arrive at 5:30 a.m., 8:00 a.m., and 11:00 a.m. These transfers are only available at these set times on the day the tour ends. If you extend your stay in Peru or if you wish to go at a different time, you will need to transfer on your own, at your own expense. Please ask the hotel bellman to arrange a taxi. Fares are approximately $25 - $35 U.S. Dollars per taxi, plus tip. The driving time from the hotel to the airport is approximately 30 - 60 minutes depending on traffic.
Airfare is not included or sold by Caravan.

Peru requires a current U.S. passport valid for six months after your date of entry. Non U.S. citizens, please check passport and visa requirements. Note: If you are travelling with children under 18 years old without both parents or legal guardians, you should carry a notarized letter of authorization signed by the missing parent(s) or guardian(s). A notarized birth certificate showing only one parent, a parent’s death certificate, or a court order of child custody may also be permissible. Failure to have proper documentation could result in denial of boarding by the airline, due to international child protection laws.
