Local bilingual guides are invaluable and always recommended for the tour because they are quite experienced and are able to share a wealth of knowledge about the rainforest canopy eco system and point out the indigenous wildlife, flora and fauna that the average tourist might otherwise miss.
Arenal Hanging Bridges Location
At nearly 2000 feet above sea level, Místico Arenal Hanging Bridges Park is located near Fortuna on the boundary between the Costa Rica lowland and highland, which accounts for the abundance of vegetation and wildlife species. The first of Místico Arenal Hanging Bridges, located at the park entrance, is also the longest suspension bridge. The second longest suspension bridge in the park is the waterfall bridge, which also offers the best view of the rainforest canopy.
The second half of Caravan’s Arenal hanging bridges tour is easier with mostly downhill and flat hiking sections. Místico Arenal Hanging Bridges Park also includes two unique bird watching trails that provide exceptional bird watching opportunities.
As you exit the hanging bridges tour there’s an exceptional lookout point with a spectacular view of Arenal Volcano.
