Town of Kennebunkport Maine
Situated in York County and with a population of just over 3,600 people, to call Kennebunkport a quaint coastal town is a near-perfect description. Dock Square is a popular attraction in this small seaside tourist town, offering visitors plenty of souvenir shops and art galleries to browse.
The Louis T. Graves Memorial Public Library and the boats parked along the Kennebunk River are also famous attractions in this little town on Maine’s Atlantic coast.
Guests of our Caravan Maine tour are treated to a one-night stay at either Anchorage by the Sea or the Nonantum Resort.
Nonantum is a spacious four-story boutique New England-style hotel that includes grounds overlooking the Kennebunk River. Since 1884, this resort hotel has entertained and hosted guests from all over the world and provides the perfect way to enjoy the Atlantic Coast. Downtown Kennebunkport is just a short walk away.
Lobster in Maine
If there is one thing the Atlantic coastal state of Maine is known for is its lobster and the best lobster in Maine can be found at any Maine seafood restaurant! Maine lobster season is literally year-round.
The state’s slogan is “Dirigo,” which is Latin for “I Lead.” Chefs and food connoisseurs from around the world recognize Maine as having some of the world’s sweetest and most flavorful lobster!
Nearly every restaurant you visit will offer some form of fresh lobster on their menu – whether it’s lobster bisque, lobster rolls, or any other plethora of gourmet lobster dishes. Lobster is a crucial part of the economy for Maine as many coastal communities in the area rely on the lobster harvest to make a living.
All our Maine tour guests spend their last evening in Kennebunkport, Maine, enjoying a delicious lobster dinner before heading off to Boston MA for the last day of the tour.
